Electric wire safety revolution

Edit:2025-05-08 13:42:52

The 'hidden differences' between WDZ-BYJ and BV

The selection of wires is often simplified as' usable ', but differences in insulation materials, temperature resistance, and environmental performance may pose fatal risks.

WDZ-BYJ and BV wires may appear to be copper core wires, but in reality, there are vast differences in material technology and safety levels

Insulation materials: Different in nature and performance

BV wire: The full name is copper core polyvinyl chloride insulated wire, and its insulation layer is made of polyvinyl chloride material.

This material is quite common in daily life, with relatively low cost and mature processing technology, and is widely used in various conventional power transmission scenarios.

WDZ-BYJ wire: Copper core cross-linked polyolefin insulated wire. Its insulation layer is low smoke halogen-free flame-retardant cross-linked polyolefin, which is fundamentally different from the insulation material of BV wires.

Cross linked polyolefin materials undergo a special irradiation crosslinking process, which transforms their molecular structure from linear to network like, greatly improving their performance.

Functional features: Each has its own advantages and is suitable for different applications

From the perspective of functional characteristics, the maximum operating temperature of BV wires is 70 ℃. Within this temperature range, it can stably transmit electricity and meet the conventional electricity needs of most ordinary households and general industrial sites.

However, once the temperature exceeds 70 ℃, its insulation performance will gradually decrease, and the service life of the wire will also be affected if it is exposed to high temperatures for a long time.

The WDZ-BYJ wire performs even better in terms of functionality. It is non-toxic, flame-retardant, has a long service life, and is resistant to high temperatures. Through irradiation crosslinking process, it has achieved good flame retardant effect.

Being able to withstand high temperatures of 105 ℃ gives WDZ-BYJ wires a significant advantage when facing high-temperature environments or places with flame retardant requirements.

Performance: Safe and environmentally friendly, who is better

In terms of performance, there is a significant difference between the two. WDZ-BYJ wire does not contain environmental substances such as halogens, lead, cadmium, chromium, mercury, etc. When burned, it will not produce a large amount of harmful gases, only a small amount of white smoke, and will not cause secondary harm to the environment and human health. It is an environmentally friendly wire.

This characteristic enables it to reduce the production of smoke and toxic gases in the event of a fire, creating better conditions for personnel evacuation and firefighting rescue.

BV wires are slightly inferior in terms of fire resistance and toxicity. Due to its insulation layer being polyvinyl chloride, harmful gases such as hydrogen chloride are released during combustion, and a large amount of thick smoke is produced, which not only pollutes the environment but also causes serious harm to the human respiratory tract, increasing the risk factor in fires.

Scope of use: Adapt to local conditions and select reasonably

BV wires are mainly used for common electrical connection scenarios such as power supply, lighting, sockets, air conditioning, etc. They are suitable for cables and wires used in power devices, daily appliances, instruments, and telecommunications equipment with AC voltage of 450/750V and below.

Due to its affordable price and stable performance, it is widely used in ordinary home decoration and can meet the basic needs of daily household electricity consumption.

WDZ-BYJ wires are suitable for places with rated voltages of 450/750V and below, which have extremely high requirements for safety and environmental protection.

For example, places with high population density, strict requirements for fire safety and environmental quality, such as subways, airports, hospitals, large libraries, sports centers, hotels, schools, shopping malls, etc. Once a fire breaks out in these places, the consequences can be unimaginable. Therefore, it is necessary to use wires with excellent flame retardant and environmental performance such as WDZ-BYJ to maximize the safety of personnel's lives, property, and the environment.
